Senior Accountant
Practis is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Senior Accountant to join our growing team.
This role will report directly to the VP of Finance and is responsible for a broad range of finance and accounting functions. They will perform overall accounting activities required for month, quarter, and year-end closing.
What you'll be doing:
- Provide support to VP of Finance and accounting department to perform a variety of duties such as maintaining general ledger, preparing financial reports, and reconciling accounts
- Manage the month end close process, including compiling and analyzing financial reports
- Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
- Assist with the financial integration of newly acquired companies
- Support year end audit and tax requests.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes
- Assist in documenting finance process and procedures
- Assist in the preparation of monthly board reporting package
- Ensure compliance with company internal controls, including documentation and testing of controls.
- Liaise with teams across multiple departments and locations to obtain and distribute financial information
- Support business needs in assisting with special projects, management reporting, and strategic analysis.
- Review and monitor revenue recognition.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you'll need:
- Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Excellent organizational skills combined with strong attention to detail
- Comprehensive knowledge of Excel as well as other Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
Preferred Qualifications:
- M&A experience preferred
- Experience working with private equity backed companies
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of accounting experience
